Instant Pot Easy Beef Chili

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil

  • 1 Pound Ground Beef

  • 1 Medium Onion, Diced

  • 2 Tablespoons Chili Powder

  • ½ Tablespoon Garlic Powder

  • ½ Tablespoon Cumin

  • 1 Teaspoon Hot Pepper Sauce, Optional

  • ½ Teaspoon Salt

  • ½ Teaspoon Pepper

  • 2 - 14 Ounce Cans Chili Beans, Do not drain

  • 2 - 14 Ounce Cans Ranch Style (Pinto) Beans, Do not drain

  • 1 - 15 Ounce Can Tomato Sauce

  • 2 Cups Beef Broth

  • 1 Tablespoon Cornstarch

  • 1 Tablespoon Water

Preparation:

  1. Turn instant pot to sauté and add the oil. Once the oil is hot, add the ground beef, onion, and seasonings and cook until meat is no longer pink.

  2. Drain any excess grease if necessary.

  3. Turn the Instant Pot off and add the remaining ingredients. Stir to combine.

  4. Set the instant pot to manual, high pressure for 25 minutes.

  5. Allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes, then quick release.

  6. In a small bowl mix together the cornstarch and water until smooth and immediately whisk into hot chili.  Allow to thicken for 5 minutes before serving.
