Barbecue Beans

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium onion, chopped

  • 1 tbsp oil

  • 10 bacon slices, cooked and crumbled

  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar

  • ¾ cup barbecue sauce

  • 3 (15-ounce) cans pork and beans, undrained

  • 2 tbsp molasses

  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp pepper

  • ½ tsp chili powder
     

Preparation:

  1. Saute onion in oil until tender. In a large mixing bowl, stir in bacon and remaining ingredients, and spoon into a lightly greased 2 1/2-quart baking dish. Chill 8 hours, if desired.

  2. Bake bean mixture at 350° for 1 hour, stirring once.
