“Angelina” Hot Chocolate
When planning our trip to Paris, everyone kept saying you have to go to Angelina on Rue de Rivoli and have the hot chocolate. I have to admit that I had never really been a big fan of hot chocolate since my only real knowledge of the drink was the Swiss Miss with little marshmallows that Mom made. I was not ready for the amazing deliciousness that was about to ensue! This recipe is the closest thing I could find to the real thing, but let’s face it, there is something remarkable about stopping in after visiting the Louvre to have hot chocolate and a cake covered in gold. Still, you have to try this!!
Ingredients:
3/4 cup whole milk
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon confectioners' sugar
4 oz Callebaut Bittersweet Chocolate 72% (chopped).
Preparation:
Combine whole milk, heavy cream and confectioners' sugar and heat over med-high till bubbles appear around edges.
Remove from heat and add Chopped chocolate. Stir till melted (you may need to return it to low heat).
Serve with whipped cream.
